.ie is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) which corresponds with the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code for the Republic of Ireland. The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) list the Computing Services Computer Centre of University College Dublin as its sponsoring organisation for the .ie domain.[3] Since 2000[4] the business of administrating the domain registry has been handled by IE Domain Registry Limited.[5] Domain name registration is open to individuals located in, or with a significant connection with, any part of the island of Ireland.[2] In 2006, .irish was a proposed new generic top-level domain (gTLD) for the global Irish community.

The transfer has to be initiated through our system. A valid Authorization Code has to be provided to initiate a transfer successfully. You may obtain the authorization code from the old registrar. Normally a transfer will be completed in 5 days. After a transfer, our system syncronizes the owner of the domain from the registry to our system. If possible, you can start an owner change if you want to replace the synced owner.
An Ownerchange may produce costs. Please refer to your pricelist. The Ownerchange can be started easily in our system. After the start of the OwnerChange in our system, some documents are needed to change the Owner:
- A signed document on headed paper from the current Owner and Admin. This letter must state that they authorise the cancellation of the domain name in order to reassign the domain to the future domain owner.
- Information from the future domain Owner showing his claim on the proposed name as per the IEDR’s registration policies.
- The future owner must also provide his contact details to be updated as the Administrative Contact.
Please scan all documents and send them as one PDF to our support.
A Restore is not supported by the registry.
