.nu is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) assigned to the island state of Niue.
It was one of the first ccTLDs to be marketed to the Internet at large as an alternative to the gTLDs .com, .net, and .org.
Playing on the phonetic similarity between nu and new in English, and the fact that nu means "now" in several European languages, it was promoted as a new TLD with an abundance of good domain names available. The .nu domain is now controlled by the Internet Foundation in Sweden amid opposition from the government of Niue.
The transfer has to be initiated through our system. A valid Authorization Code has to be provided to initiate a transfer successfully. You may obtain the authorization code from the old registrar. After a transfer, our system syncronizes the owner of the domain from the registry to our system. If possible, you can start an owner change if you want to replace the synced owner.
An Ownerchange may produce costs. Please refer to your pricelist. The Ownerchange can be started easily in our system.
A Restore is not supported by the registry.
