.nf is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Norfolk Island. While there is no rule requiring a local presence to register domains in this TLD, the pricing is significantly higher than most other domains, which has discouraged its use. Although registrations at the second level are the most expensive, they are still more common than third-level registrations, and most names in use are for sites relating to Norfolk Island.
On registration the administrative contact (Admin-C) and registrant will receive two emails.
One is a welcome message, the second is an activation email with a link that the recipient must click on to
a.) accept the TLD Registrant Agreement and AUP policy; and
b.) confirm the validity of contact details.
On renewal the policy must again be accepted and the contact details confirmed within 21 days or the domain will be suspended.
The transfer has to be initiated through our system. A valid Authorization Code can be provided to initiate a transfer. You may start the transfer without an Authorization Code. Normally a transfer will be completed in 7 days. If you start the transfer without authCode, the owner will receive a FOA mail which has to be confirmed.
An Ownerchange is free of charge and can be performed easily in our system. After the OwnerChange, the policy (see registration) must again be accepted and the contact details confirmed within 21 days or the domain will be suspended.
A Restore is not supported by the registry.
