.hk is the designated Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Hong Kong. Although Hong Kong is part of the People's Republic of China, the transitional "One Country, Two Systems" policy allows Hong Kong to retain a separate top-level domain distinct from the mainland .cn. Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation (HKIRC) is the only organization endorsed by the Hong Kong Government to undertake the administration of 'hk' domain names. Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation (HKIRC) is a non-profit making, non-statutory, member-based corporation established in 2001.
The transfer has to be initiated through our system. A valid Authorization Code has to be provided to initiate a transfer successfully. You may obtain the authorization code from the old registrar. After the transfer is started successfully, the old registrar has to give an acknowledge to the transfer. If the old registrar will not respond within 3 days to the transfer, the transfer will be automatically acknowledged. Normally a transfer will be completed in 3 days. After a transfer, our system syncronizes the owner of the domain from the registry to our system. If possible, you can start an owner change if you want to replace the synced owner.
An Ownerchange may produce costs. Please refer to your pricelist. The Ownerchange can be started easily in our system. Before an OwnerChange gets processed by the registry, a confirmation is required: A fax form is required by the registry to process a trade. Once confirmed then the OwnerChange will be processed.
A Restore is not supported by the registry.
